It's the most important night in the life of Brindsley Miller a young sculptor. Brindsley and his daft debutante fiancé, Carol Melkett are awaiting the arrival of Georg Bamberger a multi-millionaire art collector, due any moment to inspect -- and hopefully purchase -- Brindsley's work..

Tony Redden

Will McCaffrey and Tony Redden
    Unfortunately, when a blown fuse throws the entire scene into total darkness, the evening begins its hilarious spiral into a flaming wreck of utter confusion, deceit and laughs.

Add to the confusion Miss Furnival a doddering teetotaler from upstairs who discovers the pleasures of gin for the first time;

Jacquie Kahn

Jules Jacobs
    Col. Melkett, Carol's demanding father who's less than impressed with this first impression of his future son-in-law;

Harold Gorringe , an anal-retentive art collector from next door who arrives on the scene quite unexpectently (and inconveniently);

Brian Schwimmer

Jamie Frevele
    Clea, Brindsley's ex (or not so ex) girlfriend; and Franz Schuppanzigh an electrician who's mistaken for the art collector, and you've got the makings for a classic, British farce.
